John Draughon was born April 1, 1784 in Edgecombe Co., NC. He was the son of James
Draughon and Elizabeth Wells. James was the
son of James Draughon and Mary Ann Hughes.
James Sr. was the son of Walter Draughon and
Bridgitt Brown. John died January 18, 1856
in Robertson Co., TENN. John married Martha
Stallings Robertson ( 1st husband William
Robertson). Martha was the daughter of James
Stallings. Children of John & Martha:
James Wells,b. 1808 md to Nancy Huey; Merideth W. , b. 1810 md P. B.Watson; Martha C., b. bef. 1824 md Clement Chalmers; George E., b. 1820 md. Tabitha Couts; and John C.b.
1810-1824 md. unknown Wolfe.
Children of John & 2nd wife Nancy Bradley:
Panthea, b. 1832 d. young; Melissa Jane, b. 1834 md. John T. Wilkerson; William b. 1837 d. young; Jesse B., b. 1838 md. Barbara Ann
Bates; Virginia Ann, b. 1840 md. 159 Parson
Woodard; Rebecca Jane, b. 1830 md. Benjamin
