My father told me that Walter Draughon came to America from ENGLAND. He arrived in Virginia and then moved on to NC. He also said that he had long heard that the family was originally Scots and Irish, which seems to fit with what we are hearing from the others here. It sounds as if we are originally Gaelic...wish we could verify it!
