I have book on the Draughon/Draughn families of North Carolina as I am a direct descendant.
I have found William J's mother to be Ruth Smith not Ball. Also I have that he was born 1814 in Leon Yadkin County

Michael's parents were Jacob and Elizabeth
Jacbo's parents were James and Mary Anne (Hughes)
James's parents were Walter and Bridget (Brown?)

Walter and Bridget is as far as anyone has been able to trace back but 6 children and many descendants.

Would love to add you to the tree.
Jess
