John Alvis Walter Draughn, Born 1849 in Gilford County, North Carolina, USA, son of Dr. Alvis H. Draughn and Harriet Odom Wicker. Married to Velarie Elmira Perkins, Born 15 Mar 1825, Died 27 May 1882, Knott County, kentucky USA, daughter of Allen Wicker and Elizabeth "Betsy" Odom.
