Lamar,
I remember my grandmother , Sophia Ann Hardin Hawke (daughter of William Warren Hardin) telling me on numerous occasions that we had DRAUGHONS, TABORS AND SHELLS in our family. Interestingly enough, tonite I found two marriages on FTM (1824 -1850) in BIBB County. W.M. Draughon married Martha Shell (10-19-1835) and Thomas J. Draughon married Julia A.F. Shell (1-10-1834). It appears to be two bros marrying two sisters. Both couples later appear in neighboring CRAWFORD County census of 1850. The mystery now is to figure out which of these couples might have been the mother and father of Nida Jane and Rebecca.Does this help at all? I think we are on the right track here; just need to figure out how to trace it.
