There is a Joseph Draughon who was born
in Kentucky after 1865. He was the son of
Rudolfus "Dolph" Alfonsus D. Draughon and
Angeline Caudill. No other information is
given on this Joseph, but he did have a
sister named Ollie, who was married to
Carson Hurt. In January 1983 their address
was: Rt. 2 Box 154, Hazard, KY 41701.
There is a Madge Gayhart, living in Hindman,
Ky who is probably a descendant of Joseph.
"Dolph" was born abt. 1851 in Kentucky
He was the son of Alvis H. Draughon and
Harriet Wicker.
Alvis H. Draughon was born 2-14-1820
in Guilford Co., NC. and died 7-18-1891. He
is buried in Perkins Cemetery, Cane Branch,
Hindman, KY. Alvis was the son of John
Draughon and Ann Perkins. Alvis married
Harriet Wicker, daughter of Allen Wicker
and Elizabeth Odom. Harriet was born 3-15-
1825 in South Carolina and died 5-27-1882 in
Hindman, KY.
There is a Draughon Castle, which I
heard was in Wales.
