Toni,

I have not searched this family. There are a few trees posted with this Dray line at rootsweb.com. A couple have Edward's parents as Andrew Jackson Dray (born in Trumbull Co. passing in Columbiana Co.) and Ellen Alice Elliot.

I am not related and have not searched the Dray surname, so I have no idea if the info posted on the tree is correct. It is possible I have posted another obit related to this line. If you go to the Carroll Co Ohio Message board on rootsweb.com and click on my name on one of my postings, it will take you thru all obits I have posted from Carroll County.

In the Carroll County Ohio Marriage Book Vol 1, 1833 to 1849 there are 2 Dray marriages:

Jane Ann Dray to James Hackathron 2 Jan 1849 by William C. Wares (Weare) Justice of the Peace, Brown Twp.

Samuel Dray to Hannah Whitle 18 Aug 1845 by William C. Wares (Weare) Justice of the Peace, Brown Township.

I didn't find any Dray's in the 2nd marriage book 1850 to March 1860.

In the Carroll/Harrison County Ohio History bio/ Book, there is only the mention of the Dray surname in the bio of Edward Maple, born 31 May, 1851. His mother being Elizabeth (Dray) Maple, born in Trumbull County, Ohio, wife of David Maple born 1821 in Center Twp., Carroll County Ohio.

I have the Maple surname thru marriages in my lines. I have a Esther Jane Heckathorn married to Jehu White in 1844, Jehu White being a brother of my gg-grandfather. I don't have any other info on Hackathron/Heckathorn surname, or if they were one in the same.

Chris
