I would be interested in more info. on the Totton Dredge family, if you have it, Belinda. I am attempting to trace an ancestor, Mary Dredge, who marr. John Mould in Salisbury St. Martin (11 Jan 1802). She came from Ealing, Hampshire, & appears on the 1851 Census in the parish of Fisherton Anger (part of Salisbury) as a widow: Mary Mould, aged 72, "needlewoman". That would make her birth year c. 1772.

Is it possible that this Mary Dredge was related to your Peter Dredge, possibly an aunt? Any mentions of her in that diary? Or of relatives living in Fisherton Anger?

As you live in Australia and may not be aware, perhaps I should point out that Ealing and Totton were neighbouring villages, virtually contiguous, even in the 19th century (now, of course, all subsumed into "Greater Southampton").
