Hi first could you tell me do you live in England? I have found one James William on Freebmd June qtr 1883 in the District of Wokingham Vol 2c page 405. Wokingham mostly in Berkshire but part in Wiltshire. Not sure if there are more as they are still putting them on the internet. In the 1901 census (on Line) I could only find one James Dredge (no second names added to any) aged 19 born in Monkton Deveril (or so he says) living Upton Lovell Wilts he is an Ag Lab. the other nearest is aged 17 Born in Earley Berks living Theale Berks he is a Junior Poor Law Clerk. I have not been able to find anything on Lillian Heymer, no Heymer's on the 1901 census, or Freebmd, unless that is or it was mispelt. The indexing of births, marriage and deaths started in 1837. They sent copies of all the certificates to London and an index was started so people could then get copies. They are in alperbetical order by the year and there are 4 qtrs to every year up to the present day. Freebmd was only started a year or two ago. The last 100 years will not be put on the internet because some could still be living. So at the moment you can only get upto 1901, 1902 will be added next year. There is a chart to show you how they are doing in putting all the indexing on the internet. If you want any more information please get in touch. regards Irene Dredge Notify Administrator about this message?
