Mary Anne Dredge may have been the sister of my ancestor James Dredge, who was born Britford, Wilts in 1796 and was appointed Asistant Protector of Aboriginals at Port Phillip, Australia, in 1837.

James was the son of Peter Dredge (b Totton, Hampshire, 1796) and Ann White, and had siblings Peter, b Britford 1812, Hannah, b 1815, John, b 1818, Mary Ann and 3 others deceased. James mentions his sister Mary Ann in his diary. She wrote a letter to him in 1839 to tell him of their mother's death in Britford on Easter Tuesday, 2nd April 1839.

I hope this is of some help.

Belinda in Sydney, Australia
