Both Theodore Dreesen and his wife, Agnes Muxen, were born in Rheidt, Germany, a hamlet southeast of Huchelhoven. Agnes was born Nov. 17, 1828, and Theodore was born around 1830. They were married Aug. 31, 1856. When their daughter, Elizabeth, was a few months old, they sailed from Antwerp aboard the Belgique, and arrived in New York June 20, 1857. The family lived a number of years in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, near Madison, and then in 1873 came to Cedar County, Nebraska where the last child was born and where they lived out their lives. I have quite a lot of information about this family in Nebraska, and now have a contact in Germany, so I hope to continue to fill out the history of these Dreesens. If anyone would be able to help with this history, I would appreciate the input.
