Dreith-Dreuth

Just checked this site and happy to see the
Dreith postings. You might be interested to know that you have another branch of the family from Beideck living in Michigan. We are a sizeable group, who remain in close touch with each other and have a reunion each summer. We all are the children and grandchildren of Heinrich and David, who spelled their name Dreuth. I have been in correspondence with Elke Dreuth Hess of Wetzlar, Germany, for many years. She assures me that the Dreuths are all from the area around Frankfort and remain in that general location today. Though we have not been able to find the exact link to our original settler from the Pleve chart, we are confident it is the same family. Some of her cousins have sent me materials which go back to the 1600s for Dreuths. Their thought is that the possibility of a connection back to the Netherlands is very real. As you all probably are aware from your research, there are records for Dreuths coming to the U.S. from the Netherlands in the early years of 1900s. My line on the chart is from Johann Peter Dreith, son of Johann Christoph, the first settler from Isenburg. Happy to help if anyone relates to this branch of the family. Marguerite
