Looking for descendants of William Drennen 1707&1712&1739&Walter
Looking for descendants of William Drennen b. 1707 m. Vera Clair,William Drennen b. 1739 m. Margaret Hastings,William Drennen b. 1739 m. Sarah Barnes, and Walter Drennen b. abt 1710 m. Susan Marlin.Through DNA testing we have already defined 4 distinct Drennen (Drennan, Drennon, Drinnan, Drenning etc) lines. We need male descendants from those listed above to be testedso we can deterime which of the lines these men and their descndants fall into.
There is a Drennon DNA project already set up at familytreedna.com.If you order a dna test kit as part of the Drennon group, the rate is reduced to $149 for the 37 marker test. You can order a 12, 25, 37, or 67 marker test.I would recommend at least the 37 marker test because matches at that level pretty much mean there is a common ancestor.Anyone interested can go to familytreedna.com,Go to the home page, then type in Drennen or Drennan or Drennon at the upper right under Surname Search.
You will be taken to a page that list the current projects.Click on the link that says Drennen/Drennan/Dren and you will be taken to the page where you can Join The Drennon group and order your test kit.
The more descendants that are tested, the better we can define the different lines and you can prove to which line you belong. We have already connected Drennen researchers that were not in each others databases.Even though they hadn't made the connection on "paper", the dna testing proves they have a common ancestror.
