Alvis or A. R. Drennen, mother Lucinda? Of TN, AR, KY

I've been trying to find info on A R Drennen, born 10 Mar 1829 in TN. He died 4 Feb 1905. His wife was Mary Brown (20 Jun 1840 - 8 Feb 1904). I'd hit a brick wall as to his ancestry and even his first name, but I think I may have found a link. I've included the information I've found and the conclusions I've drawn from it below. I'm hoping someone out there can use this information, and I'm also hoping to get some comments from others about the likelihood that my conclusions are correct. It would also be great if anyone could add to the info I have. Thanks!

Ok, per the 1880 census, A.R. and both of A.R.'s parents were born in TN. He was living with his family in Liberty Township, White Co., AR at this census. Family members listed (with approximate years and places of birth per this census) were wife Mary (1839 TN) and children John (1859 TN); James (1862 AR); Margaret (1863 AR); George (1865 KY); Henry (1874 AR); and Nancy (1879 AR). Note that it looks from the places of birth like they moved from TN to AR to KY and then back to AR.

The 1870 census lists an AR Drennon (1829 TN) living in Shilo Precinct, Union Co., KY with his wife Mary (1841 TN) and children John (1858 TN); James (1861 AR); Margaret (1864 AR); and George (1868 KY). This census also lists a T J Drennon (1834 TN) living with the family. T J is listed as “deaf & dumb." This is obviously the same A R Drennen as the 1880 census, but the connection to T J is important.

The 1860 census lists an A R Drennan (1830 TN) living in District No. 18, Madison Co., TN (Marcus? Grove Post Office) with his wife Mary (1837 TN) and child John (1857 TN). The family had adults Jasper Drennan (1830 TN "blind") and Thomas Drennan (1832 "deaf & dumb") living them. So here it seems pretty clear that this is the same AR and that TJ from the 1870 census is Thomas. Also interesting are the neighbors, R.A. (1831 TN) and Margaret (1835 TN) Chandler, who have a Hellen Drennan (1840 TN) living with them.

The 1850 census lists an Alvis Drennon (1829 TN) living in Civil Dist. No. 2, Wilson Co., TN. He's living with (presumably) his mother Lucinda (1808 PA) and his siblings (Margaret 1836 TN); Thomas J (1830 TN "deaf and dumb"); Hellen M (1839 TN) and Arabella D (1842 TN). Lucinda is listed as a farmer, but no father is listed.

Given the connection via Thomas and Hellen, I think it is safe to say that the 1850 Alvis is the same person called A R in 1860, 1870, and 1880. I'm guessing what happened is that the father died, leaving Alvis, the eldest, to take in "deaf and dumb" Thomas. It looks like the neighbors in Wilson Co. took in Hellen, perhaps as a maid or soemthing. I'm not sure who Jasper is - perhaps a cousin?

If anyone out there knows who Alvis' father was, please let me know. Also, Alvis (as AR) married Mary Brown, who I have NO information about other than a rumor in my family that she was Cherokee. Any information about Mary Brown would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any comments or help.
