Are the Rishel's related to the Dressler's?
I have been researching Abraham Rishel Dressler the son of John and Sarah Miller Dressler. Can you help with this family?
I would like to know if John Dressler married to Mary Elizabeth Gelnett was the son of Andrew Dressler, son of George Michael Dressler, son of Johanes Jacob Dressler of Wurtemburg, Germany. In the 1790 census of PA there were three Dressler's listed,Michael with one female, David with two son's under 16, and two females, and Andrew with two son's under 16, and five females. In 1800 Michael is gone, probably dead. David is still in Greenwich Twp. Berks Co. age over 45, with one son 10-16 and one female 26-45.
In the same twp. is Peter 26-45, with one boy and one girl under 10, and one female 16-25.
In Rockland Twp.,Berks Co. There is a Jacob Dressler 26-45, with one son 10-15, and wife 26-45. The fourth Dressler that I found is in Northampton Co., Andrew Dressler age 26-45, with two son's under 10, one son 16-25, one daughter 10-15, and one daughter 16-25, and wife 26-45. Sense the grave stone of John Dressler married to Mary Elizabeth Gelnett has his date of birth as 1794 then he had to be the son of either Andrew or Peter. This is if he was born in Pennsylvania like the 1850 census in Clearfield Co. states. My guess is Andrew, what do you think?
Linda.
