Thought you might find this info useful. I have more on descendants of some of these people if you're interested.
Some of this information comes from Becky Brown Prince of Mesa, AZ; some from Ted Arthur of Alexandria, VA; some from Donna Dressler Miller of Covington, VA.
Hans Johannes Trachsel m. Elsbeth Gungsel (no dates)
Son John Peter Tresslar—b. c. 1714, d. c. 1785, buried Trissel Cemetery, Broadway, VA
m. Margaret ?
their children:
Catherine Dressler m. Casper Cline
Charles Dressler m. Nancy Carpenter
Elizabeth Dressler m. Jacob Pence [this may be in error—see next generation]
Jacob Dressler
John Dressler m. Elizabeth Finder
Magdalene Dressler m. Jacob Shoar
Mary Dressler m. Martin Feazler
Sussanna Dressler m. John Acre
Henry Dressler m(1) Maria Catherine White; (2) Elizabeth Helmintoller
Henry Dressler[Tressler] m. Catherine White had probably 6 children:
Elizabeth Tessler m. Jacob Pencem. 15 Apr 1799
*John Peter Tressler (2 Apr 1784—2 Nov 1827) m. Anna Barbara Mallow (1786—1873)
Johannes Dressler m. (c. 1810) Mary Ann Fudge
*John Heinrich (Henry) Dressler (28 Dec 1788—17 Mar 1857) m. Elizabeth Brunnemer(1798—1879)
*Maria Catherine Tressler (15 Apr 1790—20 Aug 1853) m. (10 Sep 1810) George Mallow (21 Dec 1788—28 Feb 1882) These are my ggrandparents.
*Barbara Dressler (8 July 1792—20 July 1881) m. and later divorced from William Persinger
Henry Dressler [Tressler] m (2) (marriage date 31 Oct 1796 in Botetourt Co, VA)Elizabeth Helmintoller had 6 children:
*William Dressler (12 Mar 1797—14 Jan 1860) m. Anna Margaret Brunnemer (1799—1870)
*George Dressler (8 Jun 1806—31 Oct 1856) m. (13 Aug 1827) Malinda Dressler (1808—1887)
Jacob Dressler (no other info)
Moses Dressler (no other info)
Mary Dressler m. Adam Quickle
Sally Dressler (no other info)
*This indicates couples, and in Barbara’s case, an individual who came from western VA to Johnson County, Indiana. I live on the farm settled by George Mallow and Maria Catherine Tressler Mallow in 1834. The Dressler/Tressler/ Dresslar/Tresslar spelling inconsistency is presumably a result of Elizabeth Helmintoller’spreference for the D—rather than the T—spelling. The –ar spelling is used by both Tresslars and Dresslars in Indiana.
