John Kline and his wife Henrietta (maiden name unknown) came to Iowa from Ohio in approximately 1838 or 1839 with their daughter Louisa.They settled in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.Shortly after arriving they had Emmaline.John and Henrietta were both born in Germany, John in 1808 and Henrietta in 1814, perhaps in Hesse Damstadt (Saxony).One record found in Louisa County indicates that Henrietta’s maiden name may have been Tressler and that she and John were married approximately 1833 in Columbus Ohio.Another record found on-line indicates that Henrietta’s maiden name may have been Dreslen and they were married in 1836 in Clark County, Ohio.John and Henrietta are both buried in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.John died in 1866 and Henrietta in 1889.Children born to John and Henriettaare:Louisa born 1838 in Ohio, married John C Schroder in 1855, Emmaline born about 1840 in Iowa and married Moses Jewett in 1857,Jane born 1844, Sarah Jane born 1846 and married Charles Brusor in 1863, John born 1848, Henrietta born 1852 and married A. B. Miller, Alice born 1854, and Wallace Walter born 1855 and married Julia Kathryn Wheatley in 1890.
