Adam Dressler was evidently born ca 1797 according to the 1850 Alleghany County, Virginia census.
I am particularly interested in the Martha Tate mentioned in your message. An undocumented source gave her husband as James Tate and these are my ancestors.I did not know the Dressler name before.
James Tate evidently moved to Johnson County, Indiana ca 1834 with Martha's Siblings and family noted in the 1840 census. I could not find the family in 1850 census but they were in Clay County, Indiana for the 1860 census.James died before the 1870 census but his widow and children remained in Clay County.
I need the marriage record for James Tate and Martha Dressler and believe it might be in either Bath or Alleghany County, Virginia
Thanks for posting this evidence. The Peter and Mary Grass also moved to Johnson County, Indiana and helps with development of family.Peter and Mary were in the 1860 Johnson County, Indiana census and Mary was listed as born 1800.Peter was next listed in the 1870 Clay County, Indiana census but his wife Mary was then born about 1792 and there was a young Persinger? child in the household.Believe this was a second wife Mary and not Mary Dressler.
