George,
I believe that Jonathan was the son of Benjamin Drew and wife Nancy Buchanan of Wilson Co.,TN. appears in 1850 census .They had five sons.He appears to have been the only father possible of the Drews in TN.The name of Benjamin comes down in the family which further supports this.
Unfortunately - there is no further information. They seemed to have dropped off the earth. I believe that he and son Jonathan moved around a lot. Reason unkown.
My ancestress- Elizabeth Jane Drew came into Franklin Co.,Illinois where she first married a David Rogers and had a daughter by him. He either died or they divorced as she appears in the 1860 census of Franklin Co.,Illinois in the home of Benjamin Martin Drew.I believe this to have been a brother (however, this Benjamin appears in the home of James Drew in 1850 census. He desc. believe that he was James son.I believe James to have been brother to our Jonathan. I believe that Benjamin was just visiting his uncle when census taken - can't prove one way or another.
I believe that Jonathan and Jane had another son William Martin Drew who appears in the 1880 census living next door to my gt. grandmother Elizabeth Jane Gibbs (entered as E.J. Gibbs).
I found Jonathan I think in 1830 census of Ohio. There was an Alvin there and Jonathan listed with two other sons.
I believe one named after Jonathans father Benjamin and one after mother's father, I believe a William. There wastwo Williams in area - one checked out , the other possible father.
