Thank you for your response.
I have it that the Rachel Drewry, born to Thomas Drewry Jr. and Elizabeth Presson Drewry, was born in 1749, but I don't have the source of where I got that info. If she married her cousin William born in 1727 that would make her 22 years younger than her husband. William and Rachel Drewry of Southhampton had 7 children,as mentioned in his will of 1780. Maybe there was also a son named John, supposedly born 1752 in York county VA, but I'm not sure. Anyway the will mentioned son William, Mary Morgan or, maybe a son Morgan, Richard, James, Rachel, and Nicholas. As per the will of William in 1780, Richard, James and Nicholas seem to be minors. My Rachel is sandwiched in between the names of those boys. I have her date of birth as 1767. She would be 13 then, when her father died. If the Rachel who was born 1749 (parents Thomas and Elizabeth Presson Drewry) was the wife of William, she would be really young to have children of the ages suggested in the will of 1780.
So that leaves me with the two Rachels born in 1728 to the two separate Drewry families, John and Rachel Presson and thomas and Mary Tomkins Drewry. I am really considering having my DNA tested. The direct maternal line would be clear then, but of course I would need some data to connect to those maternal lines of Presson or Tomkins.
It is so interesting.
I have speculated on a lot of this, but would love to have more facts. (Don't we all?) I have written up my thoughts and would like someone who has researched the family to look it over, make suggestions, point out mistakes, or any other help. If you want to see what I have, please let me know.
