Sorry, but the von Drieberg family isn't the same family as Drieberg. My Drieberg family is from Holland, and I think the von Drieberg family is from Germany, and came to Ceylon later. However, that said, our family oral history says that our Driebergs came from the Schwartzwald area of Germany prior to being Dutch, but that would go back a couple hundred years prior to the 1600's, and I have no documentation back that far. If you can shed any more light on the variation of name, please do. One theory is that the "von" was dropped early on, but I'm not sure.
