I am looking for ancestors of my g-g-grandfather Antine Drouin.

From his death certificate:
Born - Canada, early 1840's
Parents - Hyacinthe DROUIN & Mathilde DANIS
Travelled - To New Zealand aged 20 1859/60
Married - France Jane PLUMMER, Tapu/Waiomu, Thames, New Zealand, early 1870's.
Children - One daughter, Frances Emily Edith 1874.
Died - Thames, New Zealand, 1876.

Canada is a really broad search area, especially to a genealogical/internet novice. Any information/guidance gratefully received.
