Thanks for the info Roger,unfortunately he's not the phillipe I'm looking for.He was born in the right year and Place but his father was called John (jean)and was employed as a Calfah.Not sure what a Calfah is or was,but would be very interested to find out.I got my Information from his marriage certificate to my grandmother in 1915 in Salford,
which is a small city in the north west of England.Thats the only lead I have in my search,apart from the fact that
he worked on ships around that grandmother lived right next to the docks on the Manchester ship canal and thats where they met.Its always possible of course that Phillipe might have had another wife back home.
