Carolyn Frederick DRUMM b. Calif. 23 May 1942. Family mystery!

Does any one know who the father of: Carolyn [Caroline or Carol] Frederick (middle name?) Drumm was (is?).

The only sketchy info. our family members have is the family story that our mother (deceased) Lorraine B. Frederick became pregnant at about age 16 by and unknown fellow. That her family kicked her out. At that time she lived in West Virginia. After she was kicked out the story goes she went to California (maybe San Diego or Los Angeles). A dau. named Carolyn was born to her in Calif.. I have a picture, dated 1949 that has on the writen on the back: Lorraine "Toots", Andy (Andrew Blakely her spouse)
Carolyn and Andy Jr.. Andy Jr. only has a vague memory of Caroline (in 1949 Caroline would have been 7 and Andy abt. 5). Another son was born to Lorraine/Andy Blakely in abt. 1951, he has no recollection of Caroline.
One family story says Caroline died (no record can be found) while another says she was adopted out. Lorraine later wed another man who told me Lorraine never told him during their marriage about her dau. (strange) but he had met the 2 boys who lived with their father.
I have just received an email from a fellow who sent me the following info.. Carolyn Frederick, b. 23 May 1942, Los Angeles, Calif., mothers last name: DRUMM. The date of birth fits for "our" Carolyn but this is the first clue that Lorraine had been wed to a man named DRUMM prior to her marriage to Andrew Blakely. Or maybe she never wed the man named DRUMM but gave that last name on the birth certificate? Maybe, as she had done with the boys, she gave Carolyn to Carolyn's father to raise? We know there was a Carolyn but anything about her was kept a deep dark family secret and everyone who had any answers are dead. :0(

If any of this fits for anyone out there please email me and put Carolyn Frederick DRUMM in the subject line.

Thanks,
:0) Suki
