Eliza A. Drummond m. Darius Cook 1835
I have just discovered a marriage in my COOK line that includes Eliza Ann Drummond.Eliza Ann Drummond and Darius Cook (both of Hallowell, Prince Edward Co., Ontario, Canada) married 1/4/1835, by Rev. George Poole, Wesleyan Methodist minister. The marriage was witnessed by 2 of Darius' brothers, Israel and William Cook.
Israel Cook is my g-g-g-g-grandfather.He married Amelia Shorts Ferguson in Prince Edward Co. about 1833 and eventually the whole family group (including Darius & Eliza) left Ontario, went to Oswego Co., NY for a couple years, and eventually they all settled in Berrien Co., Michigan (SW corner of MI).
The Cooks in this line originated from Windham Co., VT prior to the Revolution, but I have a feeling they were bent politically as Loyalists to the King and left for Canada with other Loyalist families when the Revolution affected their lives adversely.
If anyone has this Eliza Ann Drummond and any background on her and her family, please contact me directly at my email address.Thanks.
