The court case from Goochland County below may help Drumwright researchers. I do not have any further Drumwright information. I would welcome any information on Mary Turner Drumwright and her Turner family.

Goochland County, VA judgements, June, 1762; Box 31. False Imprisonment: Russell vs Drumwright, Executors. Summons dated 12 (or 13th) May 1759, from Valentine Wood, Clerk of Court, to Thomas Starke and Exolheath Page: they are summoned to appear on 3rd Tuesday in May to testify on behalf of John Russell, a poor person, in the case of the said Russell, petitioner and Drumwright’s executors [one is named Mims], defendants.
Abstract of Deposition of Thomas Starke, aged 70 years or thereabouts. About 49 years ago, he was frequently at the house of Grace Turner, widow of Thomas Turner and in King & Queen County where he several times saw a woman called Mary…generally called Indian Mary [a slave, bought of Col Geo. Braxton; said to be imported from Carolina]. [Indian Mary] lived in the Turner family upwards of 10 years, during which time she had a daughter named Ann. Thomas Turner gave Ann to his daughter Mary who intermarried with William Drumwright, since deceased. That the plaintiff John Russell was the reputed son of the said Ann. Starke does not remember that the said [Indian] Mary claimed any right to freedom, but that her daughter Ann did, and about 14 years ago petitioned for the same in King and Queen County Court, but did not obtain it… and further saith not. Thos Starke (original signature). Sworn to before R. Tunstall and John Smith.
