Hi Anna, I don't know how much I can help you as the information on my family line is very limited. At this point in time, I only know that my g-grandfather, John Druschel and his wife Maria emigrated from Germany (place unknown)about 1883 to NYC. John died in 1900 of TB at age 50, Maria died in 1903 in an Insane Asylum at age 44. Out of 7 children born only two survived young adulthood. My grandfather, William, was placed in upstate NY in 1903 by the Children's Aid Society where he grew up, married and had two children. My father Henry was the only surviving child of his generation. William's sister, Emma, was placed in a state home in the Hudson Valley about 1901 and died there in 1978.There are a few Druschels in Western NY but none appear to be related. I hope to find out where in Germany my family originally came from. I am still trying to track down vital records. Where did your people originally come from?
