REV. D.A. DRYDEN -- This gentleman, who has so faithfully served as pastor in the Methodist Episcopal Church of this city during the past 2 years, and who has been directed by his Conference to San Jose, will leave us for his new field of labor next week. Before going, and on this (Friday) evening, he will deliver a lecture in the church of his Congregation on the theme, "The Final Conflict." After the lecture a collection for his benefit will be taken up, and it is to be hoped that one who has so faithfully served in his calling and is so well beloved by those who knew him best, will be honored with a large and liberal audience on the occasion. As a lecturer, Mr. DRYDEN is eloquent, fearless and instructive, and his subject affords scope for the exercise of all his powers.
