I have been searching everywhere for the parents of Jacob "Jake" George W. (Washington?) Dryer. So far the only concrete thing I have found on him is when he was living with the Summers family in Jasper County, MO in the 1900 Census. He is listed as a boarder, his birthplace is listed as TN, his father's is listed as Germany, and his mother's as Tennessee. He was born between 1881-1886. On his death certificate it lists his parents as Christopher Dryer and Aletha Crabtree. I would think that they would have been married in TN (I haven't found anything) and I looked for them in the 1880 TN Census, but also haven't found anything. The families story about Jake is that he always said he ran away when he was 9-11 years old, the Summers family took him in, and he never went back. Does anyone have a Crabtree/Dryer marriage?
