Hello, On the surface it doesn't appear this is the same Duarte family...however...my grandfather lived in the Napa Valley area. The info I have doesn't include a Joseph Duarte, but it is possible it could be something like a Joseph from my grandfather's other relatives. Do you have info on how/when they came to the US? And what village/island they were from in the Azores? I have the ships list of relatives that came with my grandparents from Azores to Hawaii and for example, there is an Antone Duarte listed that I do not have in my info, but it could be a relative of some kind.
