Hello Ethel,
This may be one of those confusing 19th century "out-of -wedlock" situations. Qhite often, the "out-of-wsdlock" children would be adopted by the mother's older sister or equivalent older relative because the mother was usually younger and not yet ready to marry and settle down. It was pretty common at the turn of the 19th to 20th century but kept pretty "hush-hush".
Here's what I have:
Emile Dubé married Marie-Blanche Desrosiers at St.Ann's Parish, Woonsocket, RI on Nov 27, 1934. He must have been an old guy because his brothers and sisters married 30 to 40 years before in Ottawa and Montreal, Canada. His father was N.Ephrem-David Dubé and mother was Marie-Thérèse Chambers, of Michael Chambers and Julie Maloney.
Emile 's children are Simone C. who married Leon.J/Phaneuf in 1954 and James-Kenneth Dube who married Arlene Claudette Garceau, both in Woonsocket, RI. That's all I have on this family line. If you have more to give me, I would greatly appreciate it.
I can give you the lineage all the way up to France, if you wish. I would appreciate having your lineage. You can respond directly or contact me at [email protected]
Jean-Claude
