Soon after his arrival Jacob Dubs became a member of Great Swamp Church. He married Veronica Welker born in Europe, but had relatives in America. She was the sister of George Welker of Goshenhoppen. She is said to have been a woman of some education. "We have been informed by one of her great-granddaughters that when the country began to be settled, she gathered the children of her neighbor around the kitchen and taught them to read. Her husband Jacob Dubs, appears to have been an intelligent man. He wrote in an excellant hand. He was a jack of all trades. Guns were bought to him from a long distance to be repaired. For the use of his family he made a musical instrument, a harpsichord. Children, Felix, Feb 28, 1738, Barbara, April 5, 1744. Margaretha born 1746, Daniel, born Oct 5, 1748 and Elizabeth, born Oct 16, 1750.

Records at Goshenhoppen
Benedict Schwob to Susanna Welcker, after 1746 and before 1758

Dietrich Welker to Sara DeHaven, same time frame

Michael Welker t Anna Marie Reid, same time frame
