I am working on my husband's Robillard and Ducharme lines and have found the 2 names linked together all the way from Joliette,Quebec to Simcoe,Ontario, to Red Lake,MN and finally in Duluth,MN. I'm about 2-3 generations away from linking up with the original Charron-Ducharme and Robillard in Quebec. I am finding conflicting information that I hope someone can clear up for me.
My husband's gr grandparents were Eleanore Ducharme and Aristide Robillard.
She was the daughter of Xavier Ducharme(1841-1911) and Elizabeth______.
He was the son of Desire Robillard(1831-1913) and Elisabeth Miville Deschenes.
The confusion comes from the death certificates. One of Desire's sons listed his own mother's maiden name of Deschenes, instead of Desire's mother's name.
On the death certificate for Eleanore Ducharme Robillard, her daughter lists Elisabeth Deschenes as the mother of Eleanore and wife of Xavier Ducharme.
It would appear that both Desire Robillard and Xavier Ducharme were married to an Elisabeth Deschenes. I can't find a maiden name for Xavier's wife other than just Elisabeth.Does anyone have any information that would clear this up?
I had also seen Desire's father as Michel Robillard, but the death certificate says Menom. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
