In message no 1275, I wrote that I had found a baptism act for Philomene Tetreau dit Ducharme»
«June 22, 1838, baptism of Philomene, born yesterday, daughter of Francois Tetreau dit Ducharme and Zoe Parent. Sponsors Francois Parent and ? Lamothe. The father was not present (my translation from French)».
I comment this act as follows:
«There is a mistake somewhere, because there is no such couple as Francois Tetreau dit Ducharme and Zoe Parent! There was on one side Francois Tetreau dit Ducharme and Catherine Brouillet, and on the other side Noel Charron dit Ducharme and Zoe Parent. Name of the godfather leads me to believe that the second one is the good one, but only a careful and complete review of this register could help us find the truth. I will try to find more about this in the coming days».
Searching further in that register, I found yesterday a baptism act for Jean-Israel Tetreau dit Ducharme, son of Francois Tetreau dit Ducharme and Catherine Brouillet. It took place in St-Pie, on Oct. 20, 1838.
it's obviously impossible that the same couple as one child in June and another one in October of the same year, that is 1838.
Hence, this Philomene is obviously the child of Noel Charron dit Ducharme and Zoe Parent.
Now is she the wife of Pierre Robillard? Finding their marriage act would be the ultimate proof. However, we can be quite sure that she was a Charron dit Ducharme.
The only other Philomene born at that time was also a Charron dit Ducharme. She was born in Ste-Elisabeth, QC, on June 7, 1838 to Isaac Charron dit Ducharme and Catherine Lefebvre,
Now you have to live with the fact that we likely are distant cousins ;-)
Hence, Philomene is either a Charron-Ducharme, either a Tetreau dit Ducharme. If we find her marraige, we will have the correct answer.
