Today, 14 Mar 2012 I verified that Donald Merrill Jr b 13 Feb 1923 was the brother of my mother in law. Yes it is a big deal, as I have been searching for my wifes grandfather for several years and now with some help out there maybe I can find information on Donald Sr.
What I know; Donald Merrill Jr was born to Donald Sr and Irene Congdon, in New London, CT. Donald has listed on his marriage license that Donald Merrill is his father and Sarah Conglon as his mother. Donald Jr did not know his mother as Donald was born on 13 Feb 1923 and his mother Irene Congdon died on 12 Aug 1923 of pulmonary tuberculosis, in New London, New London Co., CT. Donald Jr joined the army 24 Feb 1941 and was discharged on 9 Dec 1945.
Donald Jr. married Anne Ducharme, (born abt 1924 as she was 22 at the time of their marriage) daughter of Eli Ducharme and Alona Laconde, on 14 Dec 1946 in Manchester, Hillborough Co., NH,. Donald died 17 Jul 1974 I believe, in NH. probably Manchester but they are only an assumption.
If you know some Merrill's, Ducharmes or other names that are related to either Donald Jr or Anne Ducharme Merrill, please give me a heads up. I have a lot of Congdon info that I can share on his mother's side.
