These are the records from Father Hebert's SWLA books. Donato Bello had two sets of children with a different mother. All the descendants are eligible for the SAR and DAR through Donato Bello.

BELLO, Martin Donato (Donato & Marie Jeanne TAILLEFER) m. 16 March 1803 Marianne DUCHESNE (LSAR: Opel.: 1803).

Martin Donato, s/o Donato Bello and his mulatto mistress, Marie Jeanne Taillefer, married Marianne, d/o Louis and Anne "Nanette" (St. Laurent) Duchesne, on 16 Mar 1803 at Opelousas. Donato Bello was an Italian soldier and an officer in the Spanish army who died 20 December 1787, and some members of this family apparently took Donatto, others Bello, as their surname.
