2 early English Dudney's I found at www.englishorgins.com they were apprenticed to London City Guilds
Dudney John, son of Francis, Bromley, Kent, husbandman, to Thomas Parry, 25th April 1696 Plumbers' Company
Dudney William, son of Thomas, citizen and girdler, to Richard Hill, 14 Sep 1674, Cooks' Company
Dudney William, son of Thomas, citizen and girdler, to Job Sergiant, 28 Jan 1673/1674, Cooks' Company
The Girdler reference is interesting as a girdler was a maker of leather belts, and my Great Grandfather & Grandfather made shoes & boots.
I replied to your email Kay and it was returned to me twice as undeliverable. Could you send me your email address. Bye the way is The Dudney Trail still published?
