There were 2 Dudney's killed in World War I. One I know was part of my family the other is a true mystery see the web site http://www.cwgc.org.uk/detailed.asp?casualty=878451 In the Debt of Honour Register In Memory of GEORGE HENRY DUDNEY Rifleman 1133 ALIAS who died on Friday 25 September 1914. His real name was Rifleman George Henry Bartram. The memorial reads In Memory of Rifleman GEORGE HENRY BARTRAM 1133, 3rd Bn., Rifle Brigade who died age 27 on Friday 25 September 1914.Rifleman BARTRAM, (Served as DUDNEY). Son of Joseph and Annie M. Bartram, of 116, High St., Camden Town, London. It intrigues me why he served as Dudney can anyone shed any light on this one? John Notify Administrator about this message?
