William Ross, of Henrico County, Virginia, m. Lucy Williamson, also of Henrico County, and had a son Williamson Ross, b. 1759 in Virginia and d. 1840 in Stanly, NC. He m. Elizabeth "Betty" Odom, from South Carolina, and had 8 children: Wiley, Betsy, Green B., Littleberry, Jack, Woodson, Polly, and Sallie.

Wiley, b. abt 1785 in Stanly, NC, d. in 1843. He married Sarah (Sallie) Dudney (b. abt 1790, d. aft 1860), and they had 8 children: Abram d., Nancy, Allen, Mary (Polly), Sarah (Sallie), Martitia A., Wilbur Franklin, and Catharine (Katie).

Sarah (Sallie) Ross (b. abt 1827 in Montgomery, NC, and d. 1894 in Stanly, NC, m. James O. Mauldin Jr. (b. abt 1831, d. 27 May 1862 in Hanover, VA, in the War of Northern Aggression, son of James O. Mauldin and Mary Allen Smith.) Sarah and James had five children: Preston, Franklin Abraham, James, Eliza T., and Nancy Ann.
