I've found out a lot more about my family Dudzik/Koscierzyna/Kordecki/Nowak/Kledzik....read on!
Starting with my great-great grandparents:
Magdalena Kledzik m. Andrezj(Andrew)Koscierzyna on
Jun. 17 1884 St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. They had both immigrated from Poland. Andrezj lived in the German controlled portion of Poland, most likely Koscierzyna. Possibly, his last name was something else and the transcriber wrote down his hometown--Koscierzyna--as his last name. Then again, maybe it's really it! Magdalena had a sister Rozalia (kledzik) Gorecka. In her obituary it also mentions Antonina and Jadwiga, but I dont' know who they are.
Also, possibly another sister(pretty sure it is) and his brother or cousins:
Helen(a) Kledzik m. John (Jan?) Koscierzyna 1883; same church.
Magdalena and Andrezj/Andrew had the following children:
Anton(Tony), Constance(Connie), Frances, Helena(my great-grandmother), and Henry.
Will update on Anton's family soon.
Connie married Frances (Frank) Kordecki. They had two girls: Irene and Clara. Clara married a Nowak/Novak. Irene married Mr. Appleblood. Clara is deceased, Irene is alive.
Frances married George Korpolewski. They had no children.
I do not know about Henry's family.
Then, my great-grandparents:
Helena Koscierzyna m. Benjamin "Bernard" Dudzik Jr. in Chicago. They had Benjamin(my grandpa), Chester and Adele.
They are all deceased..my great-aunt Adele passed away this August. Bennie died in the 60s. He married Evelyn, no kids. Adele never married. Chester married Marie Keillor? Keller? and they had three children: Brian, Paul (my dad) and Mark.
Now, for the Dudzik tree. Benjamin "Bernard" Dudzik Jr....
(my great-grandpa) had several sisters: Emily (married a Michela, died at age 37 from TB), Bessie, Jennie, Josephine? and more. Don't know the rest of the names.
His parents were Benjamin and ? Josephine???? Benjamin Sr. served in either the Spanish-American war(I am pretty sure) or the Filipino War with the Navy. His aunt or cousin was Josephine Dudzik (Mother Mary Theresa) who founded the Franciscan order of nuns in Chicago Illinois in the Polish Corridor. Her parents were John and Agnes. She immigrated here from Poland in 1881 with her parents. You may purchase a book or request info on her from the Franciscan Sisters of Lemont Illinois. There is also a statue of her there. She is currently in the process of being reviewed (not sure what the correct term is) as a saint by the Vatican.
Magdalena & Andrezj, Connie & Frank, Clara, Chester Dudzik,
Frances & George, Helena, Bernard (his given name was Benjamin) and Adele are all buried at All Saints Cemetary in Chicago.
Hope this is helpful to anyone and everyone!!!
I will be updating more info as time goes on. Please send me any info you have or corrections. Thank you!
