Emily and Nelson m. ca. 1883 (M17). Emily, by 1910, had given birth to 8 children and 5 are alive in 1910 (8-5). I’m wondering, given their age difference, if Emily might have had a brief marriage prior to Nelson?
In 1900 Emily is living in the wrong area to have been included on the Dawes Commission Final Rolls for any of the Five Civilized Tribes. That’s not to imply she was not Indian, just that she was not living in an area where she would have been enumerated as Cherokee or Choctaw.
