If you look up the 1910 Census, look at all of Kansas instead just one because John Duerksen is in Stevens County even though most lived and the kids went to school in the adjoining County. The Soundex works really good because all of the Doerksen, Duerksen, Dirksen or son's are in there no matter how they spell their name. The Duerksens that are cousins had a copy of the family in the 1900's also Kansas. Their material also says that they went through Ellis island even though the background of Ellis island says that it didn't open until 1891 or soand they came in to New York Harbor June 15, 1880. I also have a copy of a portion of their Passenger record. I did also see at least one Abraham Duerksen in the 1910 Kansas census. Well, enough for now :-)
