Recently I bought an antique school book (McGuffey's Reader) from 1908 that, according to handwriting inside the book, belonged to Edward, William, and Francis DuFau of Columbus, Ohio. All three were apparently school children at that time, so their birth dates could be anywhere from 1890 to 1900, presumably. Francis wrote her address in the book as 1038 Mcallister Street in Columbus, a house that no longer exists.

Incidentally, judging by the writing in the book, Eddie was sweet on a girl by the name of Estella Colunau (sp?), and William on Carrie Carroll. Both Estella and Carrie wrote short passages in the book to their respective beaus, so the feeling was apparently mutual. :-)

Do you have any info on these Dufaus in your records? Since I have one of their school books, I think it would be interesting to know a bit more about this family, even though I'm not related.

Thanks.
