According to Gary M. Culp U.E., a collateral family relative of the Wismer's, "The very first Mennonites to settle
in Upper Canada were the families of Jacob Culp, Tilman Culp, Staats Overholt, and Frederick Haun...all of
whom, with their families migrated from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 1786. At that time, those
pioneer Mennonite families had all their most necessary and worldly possessions loaded into their Ox-drawn
Conestoga Wagons. Along the way, another family, consisting of Conrad Tufford and his wife, Judy, joined the
pioneer plain-folk group, at Easton PA. All five of these families were to eventually settle at Clinton Township,
Lincoln County, - along the south shoreline of Lake Ontario, near what-is-now the town of Beamsville, Ontario
where is Easton,PA and who was conrads kin?
