There is also a southern connection. I am desended from Fredrick and Mary Dufford of Butler County,Pa. They had a son, "Ephrim" who moved to South Carolina in the 1850's to attend a semimary. He became a Luthern minister and school teacher in what is now Calhoun County. During the Civil War he enlisted in the confederate cavalary. Afterwards he returned home and is buried in the cemetary of his church. The local Dufford Clan has a reunion there every year.
