Could you send me a copy of Adam's will? I am still trying to document my working theory that my Jacob Henry Dufford, born 1834, was the son of Frederick Dufford (1795-1846), grandson of Frederick Dufford (1774-1829), and great-grandson of Adam (1725-1778). I think there's been a slight misunderstanding, but perhaps you can help me clear it up. According to "Early Germans of New Jersey", Philip Dufford Sr. & Philip Dufford Jr. arrived at Philadelphia in 1738 aboard the Robert & Oliver (some have suggested it was actually the Robert & Alice). Their names are recorded on the passenger list as Philip Tofort Sen & Philip Tofort Jr. After settling in German Valley, New Jersey, Philip Jr. made his will in 1767, which was probated 1769, naming wife Catrina (his 3rd wife), sons Adam & George, daughter Mary Magdalena, and grandson Jurry Stuffy (George Stephen) a son of Jacob Dufford who is not mentioned (supposedly because he had married a Delaware Indian and was disowned. Other researchers have also included a son Johann Philip because of the baptismal records in Sutlzbach; but this Philip died in 1723, age 2.
