DUFFUS/CUNARD in NOVA SCOTIA, 1800s

I am trying to trace the birth, marriage and background of Ann, daughter of Sir William Cunard and his wife Susan (?) nee DUFFUS. Ann was one of 8 or nine children and married Ralph Shuttleworth Allen (later Major in British Army and Lord of Bathampton Manor, Somerset). They had 4 or 5 children. Marriage belived to have taken place in Nova Scotia, and possibly a child Fanny or Mary or Fanny Mary (?) was born in Nova Scotia.

Sir Samuel Cunard was famous for the Cunard Shipping line. I believe two of Ralph and Ann's children (George and Phillip?) went to work for Cunard in New York??? They both died in new YOrk in 1902 and 1903. No exact details.

Ann died young and Ralph went on to marry again and have a further 12 children!

I can share details I have.

Can anyone help?

Much appreciated

Gill Huggins
