I have a Louis Dufrene/Dufresne that was born abt. 1856 near Cazaville, Quebec. He married a Harriet Ashland. The story goes that they changed their names because she was disinherited for marrying a man belonging to a lesser class. They are buried in New York.
Could they be the same two Louis?
