The name is French; my family's ancestors came from the Protestant France and owned a caning factory. Sent a son to New York to see where they could find a suitable place for one. He married my greatgrandmother,she was Irish Catholic. They disinherited him - religion. I have more information if you want it. I am 58, Dad is 79, his father was 85 in early 1970s. I grew up in Arlington, VA; now in Myrtle Beach, SC - retired.
