I don't know if there is any connection or not. My friend has mixed black/white background. His ancestors were Louis Broussard and Olivanie Dugas who married in New Iberia, LA 21 Jul 1879. I believe Olivanie's parents were Joseph Dugas and Marie Louviere. I got his info from a book about Broussards. My friend's grandma who is still alive says that both Louis and Olivanie were Creole & she died in childbirth.

Do you see any connection?
Thanks, Maryanna Weeks
